Roles of Everyone

Just to clear out all the roles of everyone:

Mei Poh - Program planning Head
Pei Ling - Logistic planning Head
Zaki - HR Head and logistic planning Assistant
Amelia - Secretary cum Admin cum Treasurer Assistant
Jonadab - Marketing and promotions planning Head
(Sly will be helping you with the design part but I am putting you as the head so tt you can coordinate everyone. You will need to work closely with the Admin, Treasurer and the business side, so you are better at doing this job than Sly. Cos you see us more. hee...)

What we envision of the camp

Ok... Just a few things to let you know.

The camp will be a talentime camp in which campers come and form up groups to perform in the camp. They may or may not know each other before the camp.

The objective of the camp will be a preparation for them to take part in future talentimes. We would cover the things which they need to know when performing. What are the dos and don'ts. What are the techniques that can be used. What can they do to make the performance better.

Hey all! Time to get working! I'm afraid we have to start moving - Vera tapped me on the shoulder and suggested that we start moving.

But first, we need a plan. Correction, we HAVE a plan. (All the meetings you guys had before I came in mustmustmust have amounted to something!)

I'm making the draft of the camp programme as we speak. What I need to know is this:

- What have you guys on your mind for the camp? E.g. a bass-only class, a band come down and perform for the campers, a rockout jamming session...

(Note: I do see that there are some activities noted below. I've taken them into account, but I want to know what you guys have in mind. Vera wouldn't mind you all posting your own suggestions, I'm sure of that. ;) )

so basically the song was stuck in my head, so i decided to look up what this 'syndrome' really was. turns out that it's gotta do with abductees/hostages developing a sense of attachment to their captors.

in a morbid sense, isn't that what a camp is? haha. campers loving the facils who keep them there :p

Hi, Fellow Managers!

I'm Mei Poh, the one who was missing in action for the first meeting. Was going about another assignment, but I've joined in for POD as well.

A formal introduction should be made, I guess. I've worked on a similar project to Vera's during my Second Year, but my camp never took flight.
Now that we've moved on to Year 3 and the much-more-serious POD, I hope to implement what I've learned through my experience in BuMs and ITP (I worked in an enrichment company, creating and planning a digital music camp for schools that is ongoing this June) with you all to make our camp a success.

Hope to see you all in the next meeting. Vera, please remind me! I don't want to miss it like the last time!

To add on, mei poh will most likely be the main program planning person.

And for now, zaki will help with the logistics. Will try to help too...
But I'll like pei ling to do most of the things as she needs to qualify it for her POD.

I am thinking of the possibility of letting pei ling do the stage managing cos it's like the thing she wanna do... Dunno whether it's possible. Will update you guys on our next meeting.

Please let me know the days and dates that you guys are free this week and next so that I can come out with our next meeting date.

okay, i'll split this up into a couple of categories regarding what was discussed yesterday!

committee roles (so far)

overall head of project: vera (duh, hahaha)
programme and research: jonadab
logistics: pei ling
human resource: zaki
admin: amelia

outstanding roles: marketing/publicity, treasurer

role descriptions

programme and research

- to look up similar camps and see how those may influence the programme of this one
- come up with fixed plans
- others: would mei poh be taking over the main programme duties?

logistics

- to 'inventorise' equipment available for the camp
- based on programme needs, scout for suitable venues
- liaise with appropriate personnel to make venues/equipment available
- others: food arrangements, amazing race
- who else will assist pei ling?

human resource

- mainly dealing with the helpers and group leaders
- allocation of helpers during various parts of the programme

admin

- i don't think it requires a description. haha.

marketing/publicity

- how to publicise camp
- posters
- come up with a tagline i.e. camp focus in a statement
- make things SO ATTRACTIVE people want to pay
- try to make profit after factoring costs

treasurer

- funds management

right, at the moment there are some ideas we can incorporate into the programme

money matters as it stands
1. helpers paid $4/hr?
2. committee members lump sum of $200-$300? (if $7/hr, then it is around $315)
3. sponsorship for talentime prizes (who is going to neg. for sponsorships?)
