Meeting with Jimmy

• Confirmed meeting with Jimmy every Wed at 12pm. Meet outside his office.
• we can get the school to help us print leaflets and posters, just need to give them the soft copy (Sylvester to follow up)
• Possibility of combining our last performing day with Carmen's concert event. Still in the process of discussing (Vera to follow up)
• Detailed report of marketing process - schools we've contacted and the results (Vera)
• Schools that we are targetting next (Vera by today)
• Contacts for schools (Mei Poh to give to Vera)
• Names of sponsors that we need to look for (Vera by today)
• Confirmed venues - logistics (Vera by today)

Jimmy will tell us about the ETDF Seed fund on next wed meeting. We might be able to get a $3000 if we have a very good business report.

Things that are first on list now:

1. Date of camp (also dependent on carmen now)
2. Price of camp
3. Also need you guys to help call up your respective schools to check on the progress. we've got to push the marketing.

Zaki, can you arrange a meeting with every committee in? Also a meeting with the facilitators. Any day before the meeting with Jimmy on Wed next week.

We better hurry, here's the email draft!

Dear Ms Jane Tan,

Band Camp for Secondary School Musicians

Singapore Polytechnic is running a camp for secondary school students who are in bands, interested to be in a band, or interested to experience the band experience. We would like to promote this event in your school, and would like to know if the school is interested to promote this to their students.

We have posters to promote the event, providing details of the camp. In brief, the camp will be held at Singapore Polytechnic, and for 5 days they will experience and learn about how a band functions together as they play a piece on stage. The final day would be the band's performance onstage to their first audience. The price of the camp would be $250.

If the school agrees to promote the event, we are willing to send down a representative to promote and present the camp with you, if need be. We will also go into further detail about the camp.

(On a personal note, I as an alumni of St. Margaret's Secondary think that this would be great for girls who would like to play in chapel as a band, or play for talent time. I recall such class and student bands existing, and they played enthusiastically. I think there may be more like my peers still in the school, and this would be great for them.)

That Email to send out to schools

I know some of us may not have sent out the email to some schools, or some schools that you've sent the email to hasn't replied after a while.

I haven't sent mine (Sorry!) But, I had been drafting things out and realized that there are points left unclear.

I talked to Vera, and she asked me if I could draft a letter, based on these points:

- SP is holding a music band camp! (Run by us, but we're not saying that yet.)

-We would like to know if the school's interested to promote this event to its students.

-If there are any queries, contact Amelia/Milli (which name to use?) at 395u0434utu...

However, I have some things I want to make clear. I think I should let you all in this decision-making, as this would affect the schools' views of us. I still have a few things unclear:

- Should we include the promotional prices into the email? (Early-bird, Group registration)

- That new poster. Once we have a confirmed design and the email's not out yet, can we add it in?

- I wonder if we should tell the school of how we're related (only useful if you were from that school before)


Now here's where you come in. What else did I miss out?

At the end of the day, a draft email will be published here (most likely), and you can copy and paste it into Hotmail, Gmail, whatever you use, and send. Makes the job slightly easier.

Updated Poster!

Hey guys... This is the latest Poster inclusive of Madhatter n KKJ photos!!

With not much comments about the logo, i assume the logo concept is ok so i jus wen on using the same logo... The format of the poster will be roughly like this..

We need to discuss...

hi guys... while sly is touching up the t-shirt design and etc... There's a few things i think we need to discuss.

1.)The color of the t-shirt.

2.)The material of the t-shirt.

I just called and sent the draft design to a t-shirt printing company and they asked about shirt materials we want. 

He said that our design is a one color tone fading out and request that we give him the pantone color code to prevent printing the wrong color.

Regarding the materials,

there is(list according to the price of the material):

1. Single knit a.k.a normal t-shirt material(The material is thin thus suitable for outdoor activities.)

• Type of cutting: Round neck

2. Dry Fit (suitable for outdoor activities as it absorb sweat.)

• Description from a googled website: "Dry fit (different manufacturers call it different things; Nike calls it FitDry) wicks away the moisture from your body. When you are done with a run or a kickboxing class or a stint on the eliptical machine, your dry fit shirt will by, well, dry." 
• Type of cutting: Round neck or Polo tee

3. Polo tee (It's a good material as it is thick in a way that it keeps you warm.

There's also ladies and men cutting which we need to take note of. Ladies cutting will be slimmer compared to mens'. Another cutting is straight cut which is unisexual. 

We need to provide them with the size too. 

For me, i'm thinking black for the shirt, i like the black shirt design, for the material Single knit a.k.a normal t-shirt material as it's cheaper and i wonder how many of them will continue wearing them after the camp... 

On the side note, they'll need around 1 month to get all the printings done...
